Join our student-facing campaign in Latin America
27 July 2016

This Autumn, English UK will launch a high profile Shakespeare Lives branded video competition at student fairs in Bogota and Mexico City in early October, which will be promoted extensively with online support from British Council offices in the region and link to a dedicated Spanish-language competition website and Facebook page.

Competition entrants will be challenged to make a video of up to one minute about Shakespeare, with the aim of inspiring other English learners to discover Shakespeare for themselves. How they do this is completely up to them, and we expect to see a wide variety of exciting and creative content.

Nine lucky winners will then travel to English UK member centres across the UK for three weeks to study English and document their experience in the UK to share via social media, email lists and travel bloggers. We expect the "Shakespeare As You Like It" campaign to reach 15-20 million potential students in the region.

Your chance to be involved

We are looking for nine English UK member centres to host one of the winners: one centre from each of the main UK regions (Scotland, Northern England, Central England, Eastern England, South and South-Eastern England, London, South-West England, Wales and Northern Ireland).

Host centres will offer a three-week course to include tuition, accommodation, airport transfers and activities. Winners will arrive in January or February 2017, at a date agreed with the centre. The best candidate from each region (based on suitability and a first-come-first-served basis) will be selected as a host.

Host centres will not only receive mentions throughout the online campaign and in resulting content produced by their hosted winner, but also free representative places in our Shakespeare Lives pavilion at student fairs in Bogota and Mexico City, both taking place on 1 and 2 October 2016.

We are expecting a high response rate from members, so do register your interest early.
