Take on the Isle of Wight Challenge to change lives through English language learning

We have our next fundraising challenge lined up and the best part is - everyone is invited! Join English UK and adventurous ELT industry friends to walk (or run!) the Isle of Wight's spectacular coastal path to raise funds for the Eddie Byers Fund in May 2020.

There are options for all levels of experience from the 26km quarter challenge through to the full 106km challenge over two days. English UK will have a team with both half- and full-island challengers and we hope many industry friends will join us.

We will hike along the spectacular southern cliffs, past the iconic Needles and up to historic Cowes where half-island challengers will stop. The next morning, full-island challengers will continue on to historic Ventnor and back to Chale. The event is organised by Action Challenge.

Registration includes full support from medics and marshals throughout, food and refreshments, shuttle buses to the nearest station, as well as fizz and a medal at the end! Action Challenge also offers luggage transfer and camping services at an additional cost.

Registration must be made at least six weeks before the start of the challenge. We encourage you to register as soon as possible to give yourself plenty of time for fundraising and training.

Join as an individual or a team

Both individuals and teams from English UK subgroups, school chains, corporate members, industry press etc. are all invited to take on the Isle of Wight challenge with us.

English UK London team

"It would be amazing if we could have a representative (or two!) from as many of our English UK London members as possible to tackle the Isle of Wight Challenge together - whether it's the full or half (or quarter) island walk... or jog/run if you are particularly hardcore! We all know the fantastic work that the Eddie Byers Fund does and now we have an opportunity to raise money for this wonderful cause." - Charlie Pote of St Giles London Central

Are you planning to form a team? Let us know so we can share the news!
