Get some free publicity with student selfies
11 July 2014

Most students are crazy about taking selfies - and if they're from China, your study centre (or agency) can cash in on the craze with a bit of free publicity.

English UK has teamed up with the British Council in China and phone company Tencent to create a fabulous competition for students spending the summer improving their English here - and the winners will create some great publicity for their language centre.

To enter My UK Summer Camp all your students have to do is use their mobile to create a video of five minutes or less, in one of the following topics: activities, English, friends, food or culture. The videos can then be uploaded on WeShi, owned by Tencent QQ, and the winners will be featured on Education UK-branded pages on QQ.com and promoted on Education UK's WeChat account in July and August.

The competition is free to enter and very video will include the name of the student, the education centre and the Chinese agent. More details below.

* Also - the British Council China is producing six films about UK summer school programmes in July, to create themed films around activities, culture, English courses, friends, food and accommodation. Winning centres will be chosen according to their location, number of Chinese students, and quality. All interviewees will be tagged with their name, job title and centre, films will be produced with Chinese subtitles and showcased on Education UK-branded pages on Youku.com, and promoted on the WeChat account.
