More than 90 agents attended a seminar launching the new English UK Partner Agency Scheme at StudyWorld London. The scheme is a new initiative to recognise those study abroad agencies that are successfully promoting the UK as an English language teaching destination. |

English UK has launched a new website for the English UK Fairs - www.englishukfairs.com. The English UK Fairs are organised by English UK in partnership with the British Council, UK Trade & Investment and VisitBritain. |

StudyWorld London 2011 – save the date | ||

Monday 5 – Wednesday 7 September 2011 will see the return of StudyWorld London. Make sure that date is fixed in your diaries. Registration will open for educators on 4 November and registration will open for agents and exhibitors in January 2011. |

|
English UK is very pleased to have been voted the best school association for the second time. English UK won the Star School Association of the Year award for 2010, which was announced at the Language Travel Magazine Star Awards ceremony on 4 September. |

Bonfire Night - November 5th | ||

Lots of visitors to the UK are puzzled by the celebration we have in early November, with fireworks, bonfires, and sometimes torchlit parades. But it can be great fun to join in. |

Oxford is famous for its history and its glorious college buildings, part of the oldest university in the English-speaking world. It has been described as "the city of dreaming spires". But there is much more to Oxford than that, which is why it is such a popular place to visit. |

Student Profile: Mohammed Altaher from Iraq | ||
|
Mohammed Altaher is 25, and comes from Baghdad in Iraq. He is the first graduate of his university to be sent abroad to study by the Iraqi government, and has been studying at English UK member the Northumbria School of English in Whitley Bay. He is about to start his Masters course at Newcastle University. |
