English UK aims to organise three inward missions each year - in spring (usually May), summer (for those interested in summer programmes) and autumn (October).
These missions are designed to offer agents the opportunity to gain direct experience of English language education in the UK, including private language schools, further education colleges, and universities. Through a combination of scheduled meetings with educators and visits to a variety of language centres and locations, inward missions enable agents to develop contacts and build working partnerships with English UK member schools, and ultimately to fulfil the needs of potential students more effectively.
Inward missions are free for agents - English UK covers the cost of all accommodation, food and travel during the trip. As an agent, you are only expected to pay for your flight to the UK and any personal expenditure.
Each inward mission focuses on a specific region within the UK, and includes at least two workshops and four showcases.
During a workshop, agents have the opportunity to meet with approximately ten different educational institutions per day for appointment sessions, which are arranged in advance using the eSchedule Lite online scheduling system.
During a showcase, agents will usually spend half a day at a member centre, which may include tours of the premises, sample lessons, or the chance to talk to students about studying in the UK. This combination of meeting course providers and viewing the excellent facilities that accredited centres have to offer gives agents an invaluable insight into ELT in the UK.
