In between General Meetings of members, the Board of English UK (the Board of Directors of English UK Limited) is responsible with the Chief Executive for the conduct of the association's business.
There are 12 seats on the Board including a Chair and Vice-Chair. The maximum term of office for Board members is three years and there is a rotation system in place whereby at least one-third of the serving members retire each year.
The English UK Board appoints two subsidiary boards - the English UK Accreditation and Professional Services Board and the English UK Enterprises Board. It also appoints members of the Finance Panel.
Membership of English UK is regulated by the association's rules. These outline categories of membership, the code of practice, Board powers and duties and the procedure for elections, subscriptions and General Meetings.
General meetings of the members of English UK are held annually. These take place as part of our Spring Conference and include an evening Parliamentary Reception.
All members of English UK are encouraged to participate as fully as possible in the association through voting in postal ballots, elections to the Board and attendance at conferences and General Meetings.
