English UK Scotland was formed from a well-known national association of language centres and has 17 members in Edinburgh, Glasgow, Perth and Aberdeen. It is English UK's first national specialist grouping.
Members cover the complete range of ELT, from privately-owned centres to universities and FE colleges.
The group's promotional activities include several Fam trips, one of which happens after StudyWorld London and another organised with Visit Scotland (Scotland's national Tourist agency). The organisation also has a dedicated website, which is used to market the group.
English UK Scotland's members work closely together, sometimes bidding for large contracts or finding ways to meet students' needs. The group also organises specialist talks for members and joint training events for academic and administrative staff.
Why study in Scotland? Chairman, Rupert Lezemore says: "We have an international reputation for the quality of our education, which attracts many students. In addition, we are an English-speaking country and part of the UK, but with our own history and traditions and an excellent quality of life."
