The English UK rules require Nominated Representatives to complete and/or update an  Annual Declaration. The Annual Declaration forms part of each member centre's unique online profile. The information contained in your centre's profile is important for a number of reasons:

  • The size of EFL provision declared is used to calculate your centre's liability to English UK subscription charges, annual Accreditation UK scheme fees and, where applicable, CLA charges.
  • Keeping your centre and staff contact details up to date will ensure that you are able to fully benefit from your membership and avoid any delays in receiving relevant information.
  • The data in the marketing section informs your centre's profile on the English UK website.

Please note this is not the same as the British Council's Accreditation UK scheme declaration. This online form/profile relates specifically to your membership of English UK.

Completing and updating your Annual Declaration and profile

In order to complete and/or update your profile, click on my profile.

You can log in at any time throughout the year to make changes to sections 1, 2 (centre details) and 4 (marketing information) and we encourage you to keep this as up-to-date as possible.

We will send you an email reminder annually (usually towards the end of January), asking you to submit your Annual Declaration. When logging in during the annual declaration period you will be required to work through all the sections of your profile. You'll need to check that all your data remains correct, 'sign' the Declaration (section 3) and complete your student week/number statistics (section 5) before a given date.

After the deadline, English UK checks, validates and records the details of your Annual Declaration and profile. Outside of the submission period, you will be able to view but not amend your student week/number statistics (section 5) and Declaration (section 3). All other sections can be edited throughout the year.

Annual Declaration & Profile - a summary

Section 1: Centre details - basic

In this section you'll be asked to provide basic contact details for your centre.

Section 2: Centre details - advanced

In this section you'll be asked to provide details of your Nominated Representative, key members of staff and any other colleagues whom you wish to be added to our contact lists. You'll also need to let us know the average number of people employed at your school or ELT section and what type of provider you are.

Section 3: Declaration

In this section you'll be asked to make your Annual Declaration. In order to complete this, you'll need to know the total number of student weeks of English language tuition (private sector) or timetabled teacher hours for 'EFL' provision (state sector) at your centre for the previous calendar year.

Section 4: Marketing information

The information provided in this section informs your profile on the English UK website. You'll be asked to check and edit detailed course information and a description of your centre.

Please note that you're now able to add a longer centre description than in the past – up to 350 words (or 2275 characters). You'll also have the opportunity to upload a photograph.

In 2010 we launched the course search finder in 11 foreign languages. When you log in to complete your annual declaration, you will now have the opportunity to add your centre description in a foreign language in the marketing section of your member profile (up to a maximum of 350 words or 2775 characters). To assist members with this, we offered a special translation service in partnership with Cicero Translations. We plan to offer a similar service again in April and August.

Section 5: Analysis of annual student weeks (to be completed by private sector members only)

In this section, you'll need to provide a detailed breakdown of your student weeks' figure for each country and the total for adults and juniors. You'll also need to let us know your student numbers for the previous calendar year.
