English UK has a variety of publications covering a wide range of topics, available free to members online. To download any of these resources (in PDF format), please click on the links below.

When English UK members are lobbying MPs or trying to interest local media in the economic implications of the changes to the visa and accreditation systems, it is always helpful to provide an estimate of the monetary value centres bring to their area.

This document shows estimates of the value the industry brings to various towns, cities, counties and nations within the UK. It has been produced by using the current best estimate of the sector's value  and dividing it by the number of student weeks declared by English UK members for 2010 in each area.

English UK has appointed a consultant, Stassie Nikolova, who has previously worked closely with the SACB when she was at an English UK member centre.

Stassie has put together the following manual, with sample documents, for dealing with the SACB systems. If members follow the systems in the manual, payments should be made.

This list is intended to serve as a helpful guide for English UK members to determine which English language testing qualifications are able to identify B1 level students for the purposes of Tier 4 of the UKBA's points-based system.

 CEFR B1 – Threshold level: Equivalencies in Language Test Assessment

This special report, commissioned by English UK through the Prime Minister's Initiative for International Education (PMI2), calls on UK EFL teacher-training organisations to adopt a more strategic approach in meeting the growing professional development needs of non-native speaker teachers around the globe. 

The report, released in April 2009, identifies opportunities for UK institutions to leverage their reputation for excellence in qualifications, accreditation and teacher training by creating embedded and sustainable cascading models through the use of new partnership and technological paradigms.

A booklet for member centres to give to homestay providers intending to take international students. The booklet informs hosts of the practicalities of welcoming overseas students into their home. It contains informative, concise and helpful advice on: accommodation, leisure, bathrooms and toilets, meals, medical treatment, children, cleaning, payment, culture shock and homesickness, tax, heating, telephone and much more.

A booklet for member centres to give to overseas students coming to the UK to learn English. The booklet covers topics such as passports, visas, insurance, immigration, customs, living in Britain, British culture and staying with a host family. Ideal for sending out to students in a pre-arrival information pack or handing out on their arrival in the UK.
