This June 2011 report was commissioned by the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills (BIS) to inform the government's policy and efforts in support of the Education sector. The research undertaken by London Economics establishes a comprehensive estimate of the total value of overseas trade and investment in education-related activities to the United Kingdom economy. Having established the baseline value, it also assembles historical trends and forecasts that will help understand the future growth potential and the United Kingdom's global share of the education-related activities over the next 10 years and beyond.

This report by Euromonitor International, dated April 2011, aims to predict the future performance of the global travel and tourism industry.

This guide, produced by the British Council, covers what students need to know and do before they leave home, along with advice about arriving in the UK, settling in and getting on with making the most of being a student in the UK.

•  First steps - a predeparture guide for international students coming to the UK

This British Council produced guide is designed to help international students prepare for their stay in the UK and gives practical advice about living and studying here. It highlights some of the safety and security issues international students need to be aware of and lists organisations to contact if they do need help.

•  Comfort Zone: Making sure that your time in the UK is safe and enjoyable

The British Council also produced a report on student safety, based on a survey they conducted. The survey assessed student experiences and premises about safety issues in the UK.

•   Creating confidence: International student safety survey

The Education and Skills scoping mission to Panama took place in October 2011. A comprehensive and intensive programme afforded the scope team to garnish information on the current status of education and skills training in Panama with respect to English Language Training and Vocational Training provision. This scoping mission was funded by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office's Commercial Diplomacy and Bilateral Country Programme Budgets.
