Nahal Motahari Asl is 18 and comes from Teheran in Iran. She is studying on a university foundation programme at International House in London.
What made you want to study in London?
I used to come to London for summer school when I was a child and I always loved it. I've got very good memories of London. We have good universities in Teheran but all the demonstrations mean I would rather be in London. I am really enjoying my time here and want to continue my studies.
What made you choose International House?
I started out wanting to sit GCSEs and A Levels at a college but then I changed my mind and decided to take a university foundation programme here.
What do you like best about studying in the UK?
I like the fact that I can meet international people here from a lot more different cultures. And I like London very much. There's always something interesting going on.
Has anything surprised you about London?
No, I knew it well before. I used to come to London when I was a child, in the summer. I used to come and learn English. I always loved London.
What do you hope to study at university?
I want to do marketing and advertising but there aren't many universities in central London that do this course. So I might go for psychology related to business or with marketing and communications.
What are your plans when you graduate?
I am looking forward to continuing in my parents' business. They have a carpet factory.
