Certificate in International Business English Training (Cert IBET)
Introduction
The English UK/Trinity College London Certificate in International Business English Training (Cert IBET) is a specialist qualification for business English trainers and is offered in partnership by English UK and Trinity College London (www.trinitycollege.co.uk).
The qualification aims to enhance the skills, expertise and competitiveness of business English trainers, increase their employability and improve their ability to deliver a quality product to clients.
Cert IBET course delivery
Cert IBET courses are delivered through a range of flexible mediums to suit individual learning preferences. Course providers can offer the course to groups or individuals, online, by blended learning, or face to face. Many providers are also experienced in delivering courses on demand at any location.
Entry Requirements
The course is suitable for post-certificate level ESOL/EFL trainers wishing to develop their expertise in business English training. Entrants must possess an initial TEFL qualification and at least one year's EFL teaching experience. Some experience of business English teaching is also desirable.
Cert IBET course details
The course that leads to the Cert IBET qualification lasts a minimum of 50 hours. This includes 40 hours of prescribed content and 10 hours of localised content.
The core syllabus includes: defining the nature of business English, key business concepts, needs analysis, materials and resources, internationalisation, course and syllabus design, methods and techniques, business communication skills and evaluation and assessment techniques.
Assessment
Course participants must successfully complete an approved course and submit a 3-4000 word assignment in order to obtain the qualification. All assignments are moderated by Trinity College London.
