Diploma in English Teaching Management (DELTM)

This course provides excellent professional development for managers and aspiring managers of language centres. It is organised by English UK and validated by Trinity College London.

The course focuses on management at three levels: routine, tactical and strategic. Training is delivered by George Pickering, Terry Phillips and Keith Harding, all experts in their fields with extensive ELT experience.

The course runs from September to June with ten monthly face-to face sessions held in London. Participants are required to complete five 3,500 word assignments and one 5,000 word project. These are practical projects with a theoretical underpinning. There is no final examination.

This equates to a total of 635 hours - around 8 hours a week - of which 65 are allocated to training sessions, 380 hours to self-study, including completion of mini-tasks and 200 hours on the assignments and project.

Candidates should be in a position of line management experience in an educational or business context, and have English at level C1 of the CEFR. It is also desirable to have a diploma in TEFL/TESOL or an MA in Applied Linguistics/TESOL/TEFL, an initial teaching qualification and at least five years' ELT teaching experience, and be at Principal, Academic Director, DOS or ADOS level.

Applications are considered on a first-come, first-served basis, provided other criteria are met. English UK reserves the right to refuse applications.
