In 2013, The Sunday Times' annual survey voted Stamford 'The No.1 Place to Live in Britain'. It has appeared in the top 10 in every year since. With its quirky afternoon tea rooms, stately homes, auction houses, winding lanes, and beautiful countryside, it's easy to see why. Stamford is truly the place to immerse yourself in all things English! If complementing your English studies with a real taste of England is the experience you are looking for, this is the town for you.
Opened in 2005, Stamford Academy is safely situated on the town’s pedestrianized High Street, putting us within easy walking distance of Stamford’s cafés, shops and transport hubs.
Our four purpose-built classrooms are clean, modern and equipped with interactive whiteboards to help improve your learning. In addition, all of our classes are limited to a maximum of 10 students.
The Academy is family-owned and managed by myself (Chris) and my parents, Geoff and Janet. Between us, we have over 70 years’ combined experience in the English as a Foreign Language (EFL) sector, which we use to make your stay with us as rewarding and enjoyable as possible. All three of us have studied as language students abroad, so we can relate first-hand to your needs, expectations and concerns. Since it opened, the school has grown almost exclusively by word-of-mouth, primarily because we recognise the importance of providing our students with a warm, welcoming and personal service.
Teachers at Stamford Academy are all qualified in their respective fields and each has a minimum of five years’ teaching experience. The Academy has been accredited by the British Council, is a member of English UK and is also a certified Cambridge English Exam Preparation Centre – all of which means that you can rest assured that as a language school, we are dedicated to achieving and maintaining the highest of standards.
More important than all of this however, is that we are passionate and conscientious about what we do - we’ve spent most of our working lives doing it! All of us at Stamford Academy take genuine pride in offering you a safe, cosy and personal environment in which to learn and improve your English.
