Description of centre

St Clare’s, Oxford is a vibrant and welcoming international English Language college based in elegant North Oxford, with over 70 years of experience teaching non-native speakers. Their strong worldwide reputation can be put down to a combination of factors – their small class sizes, flexible study programme, supportive personal tutors, and immersive approach to learning. With students from over 40 different nationalities living and studying together, the college offers a truly unique study experience, where you’ll meet students from around the world and build your language confidence.

Located in the world-famous city of Oxford, teaching often takes place beyond the classroom through study visits and excursions to its museums, galleries, colleges, and parks, whilst weekly themes and interactive lessons give context to learning. Their elegant North Oxford campus is made up of 27 Victorian and Edwardian buildings, with impressive facilities and modern amenities to make your time at St Clare’s a safe and comfortable stay. All students will also have access to a 24-hour pastoral team who are committed to supporting every individual’s academic, medical and welfare needs.

The college’s wide offering of English Language programmes caters to every individual’s learning goals. They offer specialist language programmes for IELTS and Cambridge exam preparation, professional development, as well as nurturing everyday English skills.
During the Summer, St Clare’s runs a range of exciting, specialist short courses for Juniors, Teenagers and Adults. Programmes such as Art and Digital Design, Science in Oxford, and Young Leaders, enable students to engage in academic areas they are passionate about, whilst developing core language skills in reading, writing, listening, and speaking. St Clare’s is also delighted to be able to deliver many of their English Language programmes online, offering a stimulating, virtual classroom experience guaranteed to maximise your progress from home.
