English Language Courses at the University of Bedfordshire

Welcome to the University of Bedfordshire. The university environment is a fantastic place to practise and improve your English, and to meet interesting people from all over the world.

We offer a range of English language courses, all year round, from intermediate to advanced level. At the University of Bedfordshire, you can study English part time or full time. There are restrictions on part time courses for those on international student visas.

If you want a foundation programme or a presessional course we have several courses which start at different times of year. These courses combine academic English and study skills with general English. We also offer more specialised courses: please see our website for details.

Summer School. In the summer we have a variety of English courses, and we have an attractive social programme with trips to Cambridge, Oxford and London.

Being a state-of-the-art university, we have great facilities with bright, airy classrooms. All university teachers are experienced, qualified, and approachable: nearly all our staff have also worked overseas as well as in the UK. A dedicated Language Centre is the heart of the Centre for English as a Foreign Language. If you want help with your English or general advice, just ask. The Language Centre staff are friendly and experienced and are also trained language teachers.

The campus is in the centre of town with shops, bars and restaurants, and very close to the railway station: great if you want to go sightseeing in London for the day! You can be shopping in the centre of London from the University in under an hour.

If you want us to organise your accommodation, we can arrange that in our Student Village. We offer bright, modern accommodation which is a few minutes’ walk from the campus.

So why not come to the University of Bedfordshire to improve your English? Our website will show you what others have discovered about studying English at Bedfordshire: just visit www.beds.ac.uk.

When you arrive at the University, please come and visit us at the Language Centre.
