Membership types and benefits

English UK is the world’s leading language teaching association. With 330 accredited English language centres as members, it represents almost all of the UK accredited sector.

English UK works to promote and protect its members’ interests and to help continuous development of quality. It does this by:

  • Marketing and promotion, including the Guide, the website, inward and outward missions, market intelligence and the Fair
  • High-level representation to UK and other governments and agencies about a wide range of issues
  • Working with the British Council to operate the Accreditation Scheme
  • Delivering a series of 60-70 training courses and conferences on academic and management topics
  • Achieving discounts and privileges for members from partner organisations.

As a member, you can save over £1,000 by taking the opportunity to participate in English UK events and by paying the Accreditation Scheme and other fees through the association. In addition, you have access to regular information and updates through the monthly electronic newsflash and the members’ e-forum – some members say that they think the membership fee is justified by the forum alone and the information members pass on to each other through it.

The basic annual membership fee is £1,100, and there is an additional graduated supplementary subscription based on size of institution measured by student weeks taught.
