Business English UK AGM - a great success!
Business English UK, a sub interest group of English UK, held its first public AGM at International House London on 5th October 2006. The event was attended by 24 English UK members, of whom 13 were Business English UK members.
John Barnett, Business English UK Chair, gave a presentation on the group’s 2006 performance and outlined the significant progress made in the past 10 months. A subsequent open discussion encouraged members to voice their views and suggestions for the group’s future strategy. In the afternoon, the attendees listened to an interesting presentation from James Schofield, senior training consultant at Siemens. James analysed the strength of UK professional language training and gave his own suggestions (from a client’s perspective) on what UK providers can do better to win more customers. These practical ideas inspired an interesting discussion afterwards. The feedback from those attending the event was extremely positive, with ‘Excellent’ ratings!
