“Can’t wait till Monday, I have some good concrete ideas to try out”

ELT students around the country may well have been on the receiving end of some fresh ideas and innovation this week as teachers returned from this year’s English UK Teachers’ Conference on Saturday 18th November. The annual event held at Prospero House attracted almost 120 delegates, a rise of 40% on the previous year and sessions included a lively and highly memorable talk about memory by Gillie Cunningham and a thought-provoking lecture by Jennifer Jenkins about English as a Lingua Franca.

English UK would like to thank Cambridge ESOL for supporting the conference and all of the delegates, speakers, and exhibitors who attended the conference and contributed to what was generally felt to be a vibrant and stimulating learning event. Initial feedback indicates that 98% of respondents said that they would recommend the event to a colleague and delegates have provided a range of useful suggestions and feedback that will help in the planning of an even bigger and better event in November 2007.
