English UK Training Courses in May
The following training courses will be offered in May.
- Summer Schools Inductions
Wednesday, 16 May
Temporary staff who work during the busy summer period need to receive certain information if they are to successfully carry out their job to the required standards. The main challenge facing schools passing on this information is invariably one of time; how to fit the vast amounts of information into the minimal time available. Another major challenge is transmission; what media to use to ensure staff take in and understand what they have to. New employees also have to work successfully in a team, usually a mix of experienced and new staff.
This training day with Nigel Heritage is for anyone who has to prepare and present inductions and it will cover Summer Schools for both juniors and adults. As well as the content of inductions, it will also consider differing presentation styles and practical arrangements.
- Welfare Training Day- Assertiveness Skills
Friday, 25 May
People who are not naturally assertive often over-compensate by using unduly aggressive behaviour or behave in an unnecessarily submissive manner. This course, led by Lynda Hudson, provides opportunities for participants to learn and experiment with new responses appropriate to the situation and to their role in the organisation. The day would be suitable for anybody who feels they could benefit from being more confident and positive in their approach in the workplace whether dealing with students, colleagues or members of the public.
