Students fare well in New Charging Regime for Immigration and Nationality Fees

English language ability to be required for visas

Starting from 2 April 2007, anyone who wants an open-ended visa must pass a test proving they understand the UK and the English language: http://www.homeoffice.gov.uk/about-us/news/learning-english

Biometric data for visas - 2008

By 2008 all visa applicants will have to provide biometric data with their application. Biometric capture is a European regulation covering all EU member states. UKVisas has provided the attached text outlining the process and benefits to international students and the UK.
