Accreditation Consultancy Service

The Accreditation Consultancy Service (ACS) is aimed at new and established private sector schools and ELT centres in universities and further education colleges preparing for accreditation for the first time.

The UK Government's moves requiring registration and, in due course, mandatory accreditation for language schools for study visa purposes has made the need to seek accreditation even more urgent.

The key benefit is a one-day consultancy visit, perhaps best described as an accreditation "pre-MOT test". This consultancy may result in a school applying for inspection with greater confidence or it may be that the organisation will delay taking the step until certain areas have been developed further. No organisation wishes to fail an inspection and a consultancy is a cost-effective way of identifying details which can easily be overlooked.

The expert team of English UK consultants is managed by the Deputy Chief Executive (Professional Services) of English UK and consultants offer a wealth of experience having managed all types of ELT operations as well as having thorough knowledge of the Accreditation Scheme.

ACS Candidates receive:

  • A complimentary copy of the Accreditation UK handbook
  • A pre-consultancy appraisal, usually by telephone, including a review of publicity materials and staff qualifications
  • One full day's on-site consultancy visit by an experienced specialist followed up with a written report
  • Continuing access to ongoing advice for the duration of the service as the organisation prepares for the inspection

In addition, Candidates are eligible for:

  • Generous discounts on the full range of English UK training courses and training days
  • The opportunity to attend national English UK conferences at a discounted rate.
  • Up to a £500 credit towards the first English UK Membership subscription charge of the Association
