Richard Day, Interim Chief Executive

Richard joined English UK as our interim chief executive in January 2016. He is leading the association and the English UK staff team on a part-time basis until a permanent chief executive is appointed to replace our late CEO, Eddie Byers.

Richard is the owner and director of English in Chester, where he has worked for 40 years in every key role in the school. He has a wealth of experience in the ELT industry and has worked with English UK and its predecessor organisation, ARELS, for over 30 years.

He was vice chair/chair of ARELS from 1998-2004 and was on the working group that led to the creation of English UK. He subsequently served three terms on the English UK Board, stepping down in May 2015.
