Try something new in the UK

Southern England

The British Airways i360, Brighton:

Get amazing views of the city and the South coast with a trip to this attraction. You'll step into a large glass pod, which then moves slowly up a 162m central tower, and then slowly down again. On a clear day you can see the Isle of Wight to the west, which is almost 50 miles away, and the chalk cliff of Beachy Head in the other direction. You'll also get amazing views over the South Downs, the city of Brighton, and the new wind farm off the coast.

The i360 is the world's highest moving observation tower, and designed by the same company as the London Eye.

Zipworld Fforest Coaster, Snowdonia:

Whizz down a hill through a forest on the UK's first alpine coaster. This is a 1km long toboggan ride which runs downhill on a track. You'll be strapped in, pulled up the hill – and then you use the brakes on your toboggan to decide how fast you want to go. Each ticket gives you three goes on the Coaster, and most people choose to go faster each time. The Coaster opened in summer 2017, as part of a company which also includes the world's fastest zip wires and giant underground trampolines.

Surf Snowdonia, Snowdonia:

This is the world's first artificial surfing lake, and the only one in the UK. It can generate a two-metre high wave which can trvel 150metres, and up to 52 surfers can use the pool at once.

North West

Treetop Trek, Manchester:

You'll move through the treetops on obstacles including balance bars, swinging logs and 24 zip wires, up to 15m off the ground (and there's a smaller course if you don't feel quite so brave).

The Green Lady, the Edinburgh Dungeon, Edinburgh:

A classic Scottish ghost story is one of the newest attractions in the Edinburgh Dungeon – so you can get some local history along with your screams!
