Description of centre
An historic British boarding school, Begbroke Hall is located in the beautiful English countryside and is just a 15 minute drive from central Oxford. The school's playing fields back onto the grounds of the historic Blenheim Palace, offering tranquillity, privacy, and most importantly, security.
In the 1700s, Begbroke Hall was an all girls' boarding school, before its owner gave the house to St Juliana's Convent who turned it into a small girls' independent school. Today, during term time, it is a specialist school, but we have exclusive use of it during July and August each year.
The accommodation at Begbroke Hall has been recently refurbished, including the shared bathrooms. Student rooming is mainly twin rooms, with some students in dorm style rooms with 3-6 pupils in each room. During the summer, our staff and teachers live on-site to offer support, help students to get comfortable being away from home and to provide a family atmosphere. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served in the old chapel which still has its original features such as the beautiful stained glass windows. Begbroke Hall is secure and gated, with CCTV across the site.
Begbroke Hall provides modern teaching facilities, including bright and spacious classrooms, each equipped with smartboards. There is also a food technology room, an arts and crafts room, a meadow, nature area and plenty of green outdoor spaces for students to socialise, play games and sports.
