To show copyright films bought for home use to a wider audience, such as a group of students at a social programme film night, centres should hold a copyright licence allowing such screenings. Copyright films come in a variety of formats which includes videocassette, DVD, Blu-ray and internet streaming.
English UK has arranged a bulk licence for payment of Motion Picture License Company (MPLC) fees. A discount is offered by the MPLC to English UK (and passed onto our member schools) in recognition of our administrative, coordinating and negotiating role.
For 2013, English UK members benefit from a discounted rate of £168 plus VAT per accredited centre, instead of £205 plus VAT - a saving of roughly 18%.
New for 2013
- English UK members open for less than 6 months during the year benefit from a Seasonal Operators Licence for £93.00 + VAT per year.
- English UK members may also join the licence on a pro rata basis at any time during the year. Please note that all members currently licensed directly with MPLC will be referred to English UK at the time of their renewal.
The licence covers the public performance of pre-recorded DVD/Blu-ray media or downloads distributed by MPLC affiliated producers.
For further information about the members' MPLC' licence visit www.mplcuk.com or contact Alice Marcolin, Membership Manager, on email@example.com.
