Let Your English Grow scholarship winner Caroline Bueno Cabral is 23 and comes from Brazil. She studied for six months at Tti School of English in London.

Why did you choose to come to the UK?

I always thought about going to UK to study English if it was possible one day, then my friend sent me an e-mail with the Let Your English Grow Competition site, and it was the chance that I needed to make this true.

What made you choose the language school and town?

I think the things that the school offers was an important point for me, all the activity they do and the classes they have are really good. And the photos on the website help it a lot, of course!

Did you enjoy your time in the UK?

I loved the time I had in London, it was so good, and I enjoyed it so much. I don't know what I liked the most. I loved everything there, it is difficult to decide.

Did anything surprise you?

I think that Camden Town surprised me a little bit because it is completely different from what I'm used to seeing here in Brazil, you know, we can find some things similar, but nothing like Camden - that place is unique. I think that this is one of the reasons that Camden is one of my favourite places in London.

Has learning English changed your life?

I think that learning English in another country changes your life in different aspects, because you are not only learning English, you are learning a new culture that sometimes it is completely different from what you are used to. You have so many experiences that make you grow as a person and learn more about yourself and life. Learning English helps you to get a good job or have a good education, but having the opportunity to learn in another country changes your life much more than you think is possible.

Would you recommend learning English in the UK to your friends?

Of course, without thinking twice. It was the most amazing, wonderful and wicked experience that I had in my whole life. I think that everybody should have an opportunity like the one I had.
