Description of centre

The International Academy delivers Pre-sessional & Plus courses all year round, at 4 entry levels (Elementary, Pre-Intermediate, Intermediate and University Preparation) with start dates in March, May, June, July, September, October and December. Students will acquire the language and study skills required for study at a UK University.
We run a entrance exam (Wolverhampton English Proficiency Exam) both in the UK and overseas which assesses language levels and gives advice and recommendations on language course requirements at the University of Wolverhampton.
The International Academy offers Teacher Development courses for EFL teachers and a Study Semester Abroad Scholarship (UK) course. The Academy also offers short CPD courses to international teachers of English, usually in closed groups.
A full residential Summer and Winter School is available with option classes, as well as bespoke language courses throughout the year.

In addition to our UK courses, Pre-sessional courses are offered from Elementary (CEFR A2, approx IELTS 4) to Advanced (CEFR B2, Approx IELTS 6) , in China.

For our UK based students, there is both undergraduate and postgraduate English language support and we offer Pre Master's courses specifically designed for international students who need to bridge the gap between their previous qualifications and experience postgraduate study.

We also run the International Foundation Year course which is designed for international students who wish to study for a degree but do not have the right qualifications to move straight on to a degree course. The programmes develop the skills you need for studying at degree level. We have four International Foundation programmes:

Education, Health & Wellbeing
Arts
Science and Engineering
Social Sciences

Our International Business Communication (Top-up) degree allows you to achieve a BA (Hons) in IBC in just one year of full-time study. It is aimed at international students who have successfully completed a two year diploma at post-18 level, and who wish to top-up their qualifications to degree level.

Our IELTS Preparation course helps prepare students for the IELTS Test and we also provide an OET Preparation course for Medicine and Nursing with a writing feedback service.
