Shakespeare as you like it

A major, multi-channel, B2C campaign to promote the UK as the premier English language learning destination to Spanish-speaking Latin Americans and increase the number of Latin Americans learning English in the UK.

On Saturday 1 October, English UK launched a high profile Shakespeare Lives branded video competition at student fairs in Bogota and Mexico City. The campaign will be promoted extensively with online support from British Council offices in the Latin American region and link to a dedicated Spanish-language competition website and Facebook page.

Competition entrants were challenged to make a short video about Shakespeare and the nine videos that scored most highly for inspiring others and for their creativity have been chosen by a panel of experts.

In early 2017,  our nine winners each travel to a different region of the UK to document their own experiences of studying and living here. The resulting content will be shared via social media, email lists and travel bloggers to further promote the UK as an ELT study destination. In total, we expect the campaign to reach 15-20 million Spanish-speaking potential students.
