National groups
Joint Education Taskforce
This group was convened by the Home Office in 2005 to provide a forum for discussing immigration issues within the education sector. The organisation has recently been streamlined, but English UK and Study UK are members of the core JET group of six members plus key Government officials from the Home Office and other departments.
This is a lobby group which seeks to establish and maintain a favourable operating environment for tourism businesses, especially in English. English UK was a founder member and is on the Board.
This is the umbrella body representing producers and suppliers of youth, student and educational travel related products. English UK is a member of BETA.
Tourism Industry Emergency Response
This is a group organised by VisitBritain made up of key tourism industry organisations and government, developing plans for crisis scenarios and managing response to a particular crisis. Other members include ABTA and Britain's national tourist boards.
This is the UK partnership of technical and vocational education suppliers that works together to recruit international students on to a wide range of courses, deliver UK qualifications overseas, provide an optimum integrated service for international clients, and develop global strategic partnerships. English UK is a member.
This group was formed in October 2012 to promote the value of education exports to the UK. English UK is one of its 14 founder-members, who cover the full range of education.
British Tourism Industry Group (BTIG)
Meetings allow VisitBritain to inform and consult with stakeholders on the development and implementation of its four-year marketing programme, and help it fulfil its role as a trusted advisor to government on tourism matters. English UK is a member of this group.
BAISIS exists to promote best practice in academic and pastoral provision for international students at UK independent schools and colleges and to represent the interests of its members at the national level. The association is an influential organisation which occupies, and speaks for, an important niche sector in international education.
International Groups
This is a global not-for-profit membership organisation dedicated to promoting and developing opportunities for the youth, student and educational travel industry. It has more than 550 members, including English UK, connecting key industry players with decision makers and government officials.
This is a global platform for leaders and decision makers within the language travel industry to further develop and grow the industry through networking, professional development, idea and information exchange. Members include businesses, associations and the leaders of those organisations involved in language and/or educational travel. English UK is a member.
Associazione Italiana Scuola di Lingue (AISLi) is the national association of accredited language schools in Italy. English UK have signed a collaboration agreement with AISLi in recognition of our parallel commitment to maintaining high standards in English language teaching provision within Italy, highlighting important areas of mutual benefit for our two organisations. The Anglo Mexican Foundation is an education provider that offers English language teaching across nine centres in Mexico City, the State of Mexico and Puebla, and has status as a Cambridge English Language Assessment and IELTS examination centre. Since 2001, the Foundation has also funded scholarships for teachers of English. The Anglo Mexican Foundation is an English UK international associate member.
