Opportunity: promote your teacher training courses in Japan
21 July 2017

The British Council Japan invite English language centres in the UK that offer teacher training courses, to advertise in their new pamphlet: 'Study UK: Teacher Training Courses 2017/2018'.

There is space for 16 institutions to promote their courses in the publication, which is aimed at English teachers in Japan. It will be shared digitally and as a hard copy from October 2017 to September 2018.

It is an ideal time for UK to promote teacher training courses in Japan: the Japanese government is working to improve the English proficiency of both teachers and students by both encouraging and funding teacher training programmes.

What training do the teachers need?

They are interested in improving:

  • English language skills, knowledge, practise of English teaching methods
  • TEFL/TESOL programmes at postgraduate level
  • A soft version of CLIL could also be suitable for the Japanese audience

Courses would ideally be two weeks to one month long in March, August or December

There is little interest in CELTA/DELTA.

Who is eligible?

Institutions in the UK that meet the British Council Services for International Education Marketing Criteria are eligible to participate.
