By underground or train
etc.venues County Hall is a five-minute walk from Waterloo station which is on the Bakerloo, Jubilee, Northern and Waterloo & City lines and National Rail.
Leave Waterloo station via the exit marked exit 6 South Bank and walk left down York Road. Turn right on Forum Magnum Square and you will reach County Hall.
There is a car park on York Street (SE1 7NN), a two-minute walk away. Please remember the venue sits within the congestion charge zone - for further information visit the TFL website.
Free wifi is available throughout the venue.
You are required to wear your official conference name badge at all times during the event.
Special dietary requirements
Vegetarian options will be provided. For those who have informed us of their dietary requirements (allergies and intolerances), special meals may be provided. Please speak to a member of the catering team on arrival for further information.
Your safety at the event
We want everyone attending the conference to feel relaxed and ready to enjoy being in the company of other people again. We are working with the venue to ensure a safe and responsible event for all delegates and staff. No event is risk-free, however. Staff and delegates have a shared responsibility to ensure this event is safe.
We are taking extra precautions to ensure that the risk of Covid transmission is minimised at the conference.
We request you co-operate fully with all directions given by English UK and etc.venues.
Note that government guidance is subject to change.
Be aware of signs and symptoms of Covid-19. Refer to the NHS website if you are unsure of the symptoms.
A delegate must stay at home if they display any Covid-19 symptoms, including fever, cough, gastro-intestinal issues or a loss of or change to their sense of taste or smell.
Additionally, please do not attend the event if you have been diagnosed with Covid-19, or had direct contact with an individual diagnosed with or suspected to have Covid-19 in the past 14 days and you are not fully vaccinated. If you're fully vaccinated you no longer need to self-isolate after close contact with someone who has Covid-19.
At the event
We request you comply with the event's safety policies and procedures and we suggest you wear face coverings, physical distance from other delegates, and comply with other determined requirements.
We thank you for your patience and flexibility as there may be a wait for certain facilities and services.
In line with the advice and guidance from UK and local government, you will be required to present your NHS COVID Pass on entry to the conference in order to gain access to the event and to help us to reduce the risk of Covid-19.
You will need to provide one of the following:
– Proof of full Covid-19 vaccination. This requires two doses of a Covid-19 vaccine being given at least 14 days prior to attendance at the event.
– Proof of a negative Covid-19 lateral flow test (LFD) carried out at home within 48 hours before the event.
– Proof of natural immunity based upon a positive PCR test taken within 180 days of the Event (including 10 days self isolation following the result).
You can create and present your NHS COVID Pass via the NHS App (including a downloadable pdf), on the NHS website or as a paper letter, which can be requested through the NHS website or by ringing 119.

We are using proof of your Covid-19 status to minimise the risk of the virus spreading at the event. Anyone unable to provide appropriate documentation will not be permitted access to the event.
NHS Covid-19 contact tracing
The venue has an official NHS Covid-19 QR code poster at the entrance. Download the NHS Covid-19 app from your provider's appstore.
To check into a venue:
- Open the NHS Covid-19 app
- Select Venue Check-In
- Hold your phone up to the QR code on the poster
When the app registers the code, you'll see a tick and the name of the venue.
If other people were at the same venue at the same time as you, and later test positive for coronavirus (Covid-19), you may get an alert to let you know.
We recommend face covering are worn at all times when moving around the public areas of the event venue, including the toilets and during seminars. The exception is for eating and drinking.
Handwashing and hand sanitisers
Handwashing is one of the best ways to prevent the spread of Covid-19. To protect yourself and others during the event, you should wash your hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds or use a hand sanitiser with at least 60% alcohol to clean hands as often as possible, but certainly before and after:
- Touching your eyes, nose, or mouth
- Touching your face covering
- Eating and drinking
- Touching an item or surface that may be frequently touched by other people, such as door handles, tables, etc.
Hand sanitisers will be located throughout the hotel and in the lifts.
Lunch and refreshment breaks
Lunch and refreshments will be served during the event. Please follow the directions of the catering team.
Physical distancing during the event
We ask you to be respectful of people's personal space and you should keep a safe distance from others (1 metre plus) as much as possible when moving around the venue.
We ask that you avoid shaking hands at this time - please wave, nod, bow, or elbow bump!
After the event
If after the event you test postive for Covid-19 within 14 days (based on a PCR test result), inform English UK promptly.
We will retain and store delegate contact information, in line with government guidance, securely after the event in case a delegate reports Covid-19 diagnosis.
We thank you in advance for your diligence in this matter.
Exhibitors will receive one table and two chairs. The table size is 70cm (w) x 120cm (l) x 70cm (h). Your exhibition space is approximately 3m x 2m.
We recommend, for environmental and Covid-19 reasons, that paper materials, promotional giveaways, food items and displays which encourage physical interaction or excessive waste are avoided. Consider the use of digital tools such as QR codes, and other alternative means of capturing and sharing information.
Delivery of materials
Promotional material can be delivered to the venue on Wednesday 22 and Thursday 23 September 2021.
All packages must be clearly labelled using the delivery label provided. Please note that both English UK and etc.venues do not accept liability in the event of items being undelivered, returned to sender, lost, misplaced or damaged in these circumstances.
Collection of materials
Please arrange for your courier to collect all items on Monday 27 September. All items must be clearly labelled with your organisation name.
