Jodie Gray, Chief Executive

Jodie was appointed chief executive in November 2020 after serving 10 months as interim chief executive. Together with the senior leadership team, Jodie is responsible for establishing and reviewing key strategic priorities and overseeing the work of the association. Having worked at English UK for many years, she is extremely proud of the association and its executive team, and is committed to supporting English UK's members and the UK ELT sector.

After a brief stint as an English language teacher, Jodie joined English UK in 2007 as a marketing communications manager. She quickly moved into international market development and in 2015, after a year as head of global agency relationships and university relations for the Asia Pacific region at The Intern Group based in Bangkok, returned to the association as the head of market development.

In January 2017, Jodie was seconded part-time to the Department for International Trade's education sector team as the specialist for English language training. She came back full-time to English UK in April 2018 when she was promoted to the role of director of strategic development.

Jodie has a Chinese and Hindi degree from Cambridge University and is widely travelled, having visited nearly 40 countries during the course of her career in international education collecting wonderful memories and friends along the way.
