Did you know any English before coming here?

Yes, I studied English at school in Colombia since I was 5 years old, but I realized that it wasn´t enough to really speak fluently and understand it well, so I decide to look for an improvement course abroad. After analysing different options, I decided to go to the UK.

Why did you choose to come to the UK?

First, I always preferred the UK over other English mother language countries, I love Europe and I thought it was an amazing opportunity to be there. Second, I love British English because the pronunciation is beautiful and classy, and it is easier to understand. When you combine both reasons, it is a great opportunity to learn an exceptional tool for your personal education and profession in an amazing, magic and lovely environment.

Also, some friends that went to the UK to study, told me people were nice, polite and friendly, and for a South American, that is a very important issue to decide where to go abroad. They were so right!

What made you choose the language school and area?

A friend of mine told me about Nab Cottage, and when I heard him talking about his experience there, he did it with a passion and happiness that made me want to go there, and he also speaks very good English. He showed me pictures and I thought it was beautiful, like a fairy tale.

The Lake District sounded like the best option to have a great experience, because it wasn't only the studies, it was also the opportunity to enjoy other activities in the best landscape.

Did you enjoy your time in the UK? What did you like most? Did anything surprise you?

I don't have words to express how much I enjoyed my time there, it was one of the best times of my life.  People were so nice! Actually, after a few years, I can say that I have excellent friends there. Everybody was so polite and friendly.

Every little place I visited was beautiful and magic, I felt like I was in a movie. I learnt a lot. I practiced my English with the most professional teachers in the whole world. The method was so entertaining and unique that you never realized you were improving so well. I love the UK!

Has learning English changed your life?

Of course, English is one of the requirements to get a quality job. Also it let me study my MBA, which is one of my competitive advantages!!!

What are you doing now? Could you have done it without your English?

Actually, I'm working as an independent consultant and I also have a Foundation. English is so important in my professional life, every time you find situations in which you need to know it well.

Would you recommend learning English in the UK to your friends?

I always recommend it, I think if people have the opportunity to go abroad to learn English, the UK is without a doubt the best place to do it. If I could, I'd go there again, and twice!
