English UK's first event of 2012 will be the ELT Marketing Conference. This event, organised by the English Language Promotions Group (the British Council, English UK, UK Trade & Investment and VisitBritain) and supported by Cambridge ESOL, will take place on Thursday 26 January 2012 at Butchers' Hall in the heart of Smithfield in central London.

The conference is a forum for professionals who are involved in the sales and marketing of English language and other courses to international students.

We are pleased to announce that Ms Bayan Sami Abdul Rahman, the Kurdistan Regional Government's High Representative to the UK, will lead a market information session on Kurdistan, highlighting the growing opportunities in the region for ELT providers and introducing a new US$100 million scholarship programme covering English preparation and postgraduate courses.

In addition to this, the keynote and closing plenary speakers include Nigel Risner, the only motivational speaker in Europe to have been awarded Speaker of the Year from both the Academy for Chief Executives and Vistage, and BJ Cunningham, serial entrepreneur and founder of DEATH cigarettes.
