Overview
Taking place over one day and three stages, the ELT Conference will offer a programme for all teaching and academic roles.
Sessions will explore a range of key themes in ELT. These will include areas such as academic management, teaching and classroom practice, curriculum development, teacher training and staff development and the use of AI and digital tools. The programme will also touch on wider topics such as quality assurance, student engagement, well-being and sustainability.

Call for speakers
Whether you work in the classroom, lead academic teams or support wider aspects of ELT provision, we're looking for practical, engaging sessions rooted in real‑world UK ELT experience.
You don't need to be a professional speaker, just passionate about sharing knowledge and experience that others can learn from.
Those whose proposals are accepted will receive complimentary attendance to the conference.
Conference themes
We're particularly interested in proposals aligned to the themes below, but we're also open to ideas that explore related or emerging topics.
Stage 1: Academic management
This stage will focus on leadership, strategy and academic oversight in ELT settings. We are interested in sessions that explore:
- Managing and developing teaching teams
- Curriculum design and innovation
- Quality assurance and inspection readiness
- Using data and feedback to improve provision
- Integrating AI and digital tools at a strategic level
- Balancing commercial pressures with academic outcomes
Stage 2: Teaching practice
This stage will focus on the classroom and day-to-day teaching. We welcome sessions that share practical ideas, techniques and approaches, including:
- Engaging and effective classroom practice
- Teaching mixed-level or multilingual groups
- Assessment and feedback strategies
- Materials development and adapting coursebooks
- Using technology and AI to support learning
- Supporting student motivation and participation
Stage 3: ELT in context
This stage will explore the wider context in which ELT operates, looking beyond the classroom to the people, values and factors shaping the sector. Topics might include:
- Staff wellbeing and workload
- Equality, diversity and inclusion in ELT
- Sustainability in centres and operations
- Student experience beyond the classroom
- Building inclusive and supportive cenre cultures
- The evolving role of ELT in a changing global landscape
