English UK welcomes Tier 4 guidance improvements
17 November 2015

Privately funded independent and public further education colleges that lose their Tier 4 status will in future be allowed to teach students until the end of their courses under certain circumstances.

The new guidance was published last week following Home Office consultation with English UK and other associations. Under the previous guidance such students had to find a new sponsor.

In a related development, English UK has worked with Study UK and other leading associations to develop a public statement about the impact of T4 changes, calling for the Government to remove students from the net migration figures and asking for a working group to review the UK's full range of educational pathways, to ensure that we remain genuinely competitive for international student business.
