Want to learn how to deliver Olympic customer service and discover your inner entrepreneur?
21 January 2018

Customer service and entrepreneurship are vital to the success of English language centres in an increasingly competitive world.

So two of the UK's most successful achievers in these fields open and close our Marketing Conference on Friday 9 February.

Join us, and you'll hear from Linda Moir, who transformed customer service and the UK's global reputation with her creation of the volunteer Games Makers teams at the London 2012 Olympics, and before that at Virgin Atlantic. You'll also hear from Sahar Hashemi, an entrepreneur whose businesses included Coffee Republic and is recognised by government and the wider industry for her skills and achievements. Plus, we've got a very practical market report on Thailand, full of advice on how to use your time most efficiently to attract students.

"We wanted to offer more variety and value to our delegates with a great mix of specialist sessions and our two really strong inspirational speakers, who have lots to say to our industry," says organiser Tom Weatherley, Conference Producer & Member Relations Manager at English UK.

"We have customer services expert Linda Moir, whose creation of the volunteer Games Maker teams at London 2012 created the leading defining event for our nation in the past two decades, and sold the UK to the world. And we have Sahar Hashemi, an entrepreneur who advises the government and founded Coffee Republic among other business and is recognised in the wider industry for her skills and achievement. She has lots to say on identifying and seizing opportunities and creating an entrepreneurial mindset.

"Customer service and entrepreneurship are vital for our industry and every ELT centre, whether big or small, will have something to take away from these sessions

"I genuinely believe this is one of the strongest and best-value Marketing Conference programmes we've ever put together, and it's focused on the needs of our members. We'd love to see as many people there as possible."

The day also includes a specialist programme in four parallel strands focusing on the needs of ELT marketers, with themes including market information on four priority countries, digital marketing, branding, negotiating and global perspectives, including trends and international delivery.
