Creating an inclusive and welcoming environment is great for effective learning and student wellbeing. Join our specialist one-day conference this October to ensure your students have a great experience.

With international students at high risk of poor mental health, and a positive experience likely to lead to return business and student recommendations, it is important to create an inclusive environment for learners at your English language centre.

To help you promote student wellbeing outside the classroom, we have put together a day of expert sessions for student welfare staff and their managers. The day is tailored to UK ELT providers.

The one-day Student Experience Conference will focus on supporting students facing exclusion and promoting student wellbeing outside the classroom in social events and activities.

From welfare and social programming to accommodation, making sure your staff know how to cope with any situation that arises is crucial for your students' welfare and experience.

Plenary speaker Ruth Hughes will explore how to create a welcoming and inclusive environment for optimum learning. Drawing on her experience as a teacher and expert in psychology, positive education, culture shock and international student wellbeing, Ruth will outline how we see the world and how to use this to promote student wellbeing.

Other sessions will cover: the student customer journey; supporting vulnerable students; student discipline; social programme planning; and learning outside the classroom.

Speakers include: Heather Rhodes, academic principal at Harrow School; Stuart Pollard, co-founder of arcQ, a charity that helps young people fulfil their potential; and Giovanni Licata, committee member of the IATEFL Inclusive Practices and Special Education Needs special interest group. We will have even more announcements coming soon.
