The British Council International Agents Fair - open for registrations

The British Council International Agents Fair for Boarding Schools and Sixth Form Colleges 2013 is now open for registration for agents who wish to attend. To register please visit https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/LHHMYPD.

UK boarding schools and sixth form colleges are world renowned for their excellent teaching, consistently good results, personal pastoral care and high quality facilities. Over 26,000 international students currently study at UK independent schools. For this year's Fair, the British Council are seeking 25 agents from across the world who already work with schools and who are looking to extend their networks, as well as agents who are working with other sectors (such as higher education) and are looking to expand into working with schools. The British Council are particularly seeking agents from Europe, South America, South Asia and theMiddle Eastalthough all applications will be considered.

This Fair is organised by the British Council and will be held in the UK from Sunday 5 May to Saturday 11 May (inclusive) and will allow you to:

  • visit around 6 boarding schools
  • meet with around a further 40 schools at two fairs, to be held in the Yorkshire and Midlands areas
  • improve your knowledge of the UK education system and visa systems
  • improve your knowledge of UK life and culture


If you are awarded a place on the Fair then British Council will provide your accommodation, food and travel whilst in the UK. You will need to pay for and book your own flights to and from the UK, if you are allocated a place.

The provisional programme for the event is:

Sunday 5 May

  • 12:00 Arrival in UK(Heathrow airport)
  • Presentations from the British Council
  • Welcome dinner

Monday 6 May

  • Visit to two schools en route to Birmingham area (finish with lunch)
  • Afternoon activity
  • Arrival at Birmingham hotel
  • Networking dinner with UKboarding schools

Tuesday 7 May

  • All day fair at a boarding school in the Birmingham area

Wednesday 8 May

  • Visit two schools en route to York area (finish with lunch)
  • Afternoon activity
  • Arrive at York hotel
  • Networking dinner with UK boarding schools

Thursday 9 May

  • All day fair at school in the York area

Friday 10 May

  • Visit two/three schools en route to Heathrow

Saturday 11 May

  • Farewell event, London
  • End of fair, 15:00

Applications will be considered and you will be notified by 29 March of the outcome of your application.
