Annie Wright, Marketing Communications Director
Annie Wright is Marketing Communications Director and a member of the English UK leadership team. She leads the association's marketing and communications strategy, ensuring that the English UK brand, voice and public profile reflect its purpose, values and role as the representative body for accredited English language teaching centres.
Annie oversees internal and external communications, digital channels, brand development and marketing activity, helping to strengthen engagement with members, partners and stakeholders across the UK and internationally.
Annie began her career in English language teaching in 1999 when she joined ARELS, one of English UK's predecessor organisations, as an events administrator. She later took responsibility for the association's annual B2B networking event, now known as StudyWorld. From 2007 to 2017, she served as Deputy Chief Executive, working alongside the late Tony Millns to support the merger of ARELS and BASELT and the creation of English UK.
She holds a first-class degree in Fine Art from the University of Northumbria and an MA in Arts Policy and Management from Birkbeck, University of London. Annie has also supported UK education as a governor at two inner-London primary schools.
