Jodie Gray, Chief Executive

Jodie Gray has been Chief Executive of English UK since November 2020. She works with the senior leadership team, trustees, board members and members to shape the association's strategic direction, deliver services and represent the UK ELT sector with partners, policymakers and stakeholders in the UK and internationally. 

Jodie has spent most of her career in international education and has held a range of roles at English UK spanning marketing, communications, international market development and strategic leadership. She first joined the association in 2007 as Marketing Communications Manager before moving into international market development and later returning to lead strategic development. 

Between her roles at English UK, Jodie worked in Bangkok for The Intern Group as Head of Global Agency Relationships and University Relations for the Asia-Pacific region, further developing her international network and expertise in global student mobility. 

In 2017, Jodie was seconded part-time to the Department for International Trade's education sector team as the specialist adviser for English language training. She returned full-time to English UK in 2018 as Director of Strategic Development before becoming Chief Executive in 2020. 

Jodie holds a degree in Chinese and Hindi from the University of Cambridge and has worked as an English language teacher. She brings extensive experience in international education, market development and public affairs, and champions English UK's work to support its members, influence policy and strengthen the global reputation of UK English language teaching.
