English UK: with 350+ members teaching quality English across the UK
Jodie has been chief executive since November 2020. With the senior leadership team she is responsible for establishing and reviewing key strategic priorities and overseeing the association's work, which includes working with other stakeholders to promote UK ELT around the world through events and campaigns.
Jodie's career began with English UK in 2007 as a marketing communications manager before moving into international market development.
She then joined the Bangkok-based The Intern Group as head of global agency relationships and university relations for the Asia Pacific region, strengthening her international network and understanding of global student mobility. She returned to English UK as head of market development.
In January 2017, Jodie was seconded part-time to the Department for International Trade's education sector team as the specialist for English language training. She returned full-time to English UK in April 2018 as director of strategic development.
Jodie has a Chinese and Hindi degree from Cambridge University, worked briefly as an English language teacher and has visited around 40 countries during her career in international education collecting wonderful memories and friends along the way.
