Members' Conference - attending online

We look forward to welcoming you online on Friday 20 May. Please take the time to read this delegate information in advance of the event.

Members' Conference: attending online

How to join online

All sessions will take place using Zoom webinar or Zoom meeting.

You will receive the Zoom links to the sessions by email at least two days before the conference. In order for the team to monitor attendance, and to prevent any security breaches, we will require you to register your attendance for selected sessions in advance. Please use the name you used to register for the event.

Do NOT pass the Zoom links to a colleague. Anyone not registered for the event will be removed automatically. If a colleague wishes to attend the event they will need to register for the event.

Use Zoom's Chat function to communicate with English UK, but please do not submit questions using this feature.

Do not record the sessions. Please respect the privacy of audience members if using screenshots on social media or other publicity – use images that only show presenters' faces and names.

AGM papers and how to vote for any resolutions or conference motions

Whilst the conference is open to all, only representatives of member centres may attend the AGM and conference motions debate.

The AGM will start at 11:50. It is a hybrid event and you may have your video on.

Please join this meeting five minutes' before the start time (11:45) and add your 'name, centre name and member number' to your Zoom name. Your Zoom name should look like this:

Joe Bloggs, Your School of English, 789

If you wish to speak during the AGM or the debate, use the 'Raise hand' function in Zoom and wait to be called upon.

Voting

Only the nominated representative (i.e. primary contact) of a member centre or their appointed proxy may vote in the AGM and conference motions debate.

We will use eBallot.com to facilitate the voting process and each member centre's nominated representative will have received their unique login/ password information. If you are not the primary contact but are attending on behalf of your centre, please ensure they have forwarded these login details to you, if appropriate. The eBallot login details will be the same as the one used for voting in the board elections.

Contact the membership team with any questions about the eballot platform.
