ICEF Berlin trade access programme funding for uk education providers

TAP funding – 12 grants available for ICEF Berlin

English UK has secured Department for International Trade (DIT) Tradeshow Access Programme (TAP) support to subsidise UK educators' attendance at ICEF Berlin (1-3 November 2020)

DIT, via TAP, provides funding in the form of grants to help UK organisations learn to use exhibitions as a key tool in their export development plans. There is a TAP calendar of supported events, with an accredited Trade Challenge Partner (TCP) leading the UK's involvement at, and coordinating the grants for, each eligible overseas trade show.  English UK is the TCP for ICEF Berlin

Our 12 grant-subsidised UK organisations will be located together in an 'Education is GREAT' branded village. There will be additional Education is GREAT branding to raise the profile of the village and the UK as a learning destination.

Those we approve for a TAP grant may claim back £2,000 against their participation costs – a reimbursement of over 50% of the price of attending as an educator with a table. If you are successful, after the event, English UK will claim the grant on your behalf and will transfer it to you within three weeks of receiving payment from DIT.

Eligibility criteria

TAP funding aims to create opportunities for new, sustaining or growing exporters that are based in the UK and are small or medium-sized enterprises; UK universities; or UK government funded centres of higher or further learning.

The central principle of this DIT funding is that it should 'make something happen that would not otherwise happen'. Therefore, you will not meet the eligibility criteria if you have already confirmed your attendance.

You will need to have received less than six TAP grants since 2009; and wish to grow exports beyond the EU or in up to six markets.

To determine whether you are eligible to be considered for a grant, visit the English UK at ICEF Berlin webpage to download the TAP Terms and Conditions for Exhibitors 2020/21 document. Please also familiarise yourself with the TAP Exhibitor grant application.

Places will be allocated on receipt of correctly completely application forms on a first come, first served basis.

Participating in ICEF Berlin 2020

ICEF Berlin 2020 will be a hybrid event.  The traditional conference for those able to attend in Berlin will be combined with online networking and seminars to enable other delegates to participate from wherever they are around the world.

Educators who are approved for a grant will book a table with one representative and be located in the Education is Great village on-site in Berlin.  Each will have access to the Marcom e-Schedule PRO online meeting booking system, allowing them to arrange one-to-one meetings with the agents - both face-to-face and virtually.

The full price of an educator table including one representative is €4,400

For more details visit icef.com/events or email Nick Stevenson at ICEF.
