The Tourism Society's event is the only annual, industry-wide UK-based conference. It is taking place on July 3rd at City Hall in Cardiff, and with just two weeks to go,  they are offering  English UK members the chance  to attend this conference at the Tourism Society's own member rate of just £95.

The theme for the day is Professionalism in Tourism, and big names from a wide range of industry sectors will be speaking, including Jonathan Jones CBE (Director of the Welsh Government Office, London), Patricia Yates (Director of Strategy and Communications, VisitBritain), Dr Raimonda Balniene (Director, Lithuanian State Department of Tourism), John Cottrell (Director, Nathaniel Lichfield and Partners), Tony Berry (Visitor Experience Director, National Trust) and many others. Sessions will cover three key topics:

Inspire: To become a better leader

Compete: How to do this in a growing market

Regenerate: To stay relevant in an evolving industry

On 02 July there are a choice of four study tours to a variety of venues in and near Cardiff including Celtic Manor and the Doctor Who Experience, with a reception and informal dinner as well. If you can only manage one day, Cardiff has excellent transport connections and the conference itself does not begin until 11am (registration open from 8.30-11am) and will finish by 4.30pm.
