Funding available to attend ICEF Berlin
23 May 2018

English UK has secured Tradeshow Access Programme (TAP) funding for 15 educators to attend the ICEF Berlin Workshop from 4-6 November 2018.

The Department for International Trade (DIT), via TAP, provides funding in the form of grants for eligible businesses to attend overseas trade shows. The grants are based around the Tradeshow Access Programme calendar of supported events, with an accredited Trade Challenge Partner leading the UK's involvement at each event. English UK is the Trade Challenge Partner (TCP) for the ICEF Berlin Workshop.

The 15 grant funded educators will be located together in an 'Education is GREAT' branded village. Each approved educator may claim £2,000 against the cost of participating at ICEF Berlin. English UK will claim the grant on your behalf after the event and will pay this to you within three weeks of receiving the payment from DIT.

Eligibility criteria

Educators who are based in the UK, are small or medium-sized enterprises, UK universities or UK government funded centres of higher or further learning and are either new/sustaining or growing exporters are eligible for this grant.

You may not apply for the grant if you've already confirmed your attendance at this year's ICEF Berlin or are a habitual attendee of the event (a regular past attendee and/or an organisation who has attended in in the last five years). The central principle of this DIT funding is that it should make something happen that would not happen otherwise.

Participating in ICEF Berlin

ICEF Berlin Workshop is the leading international education focused networking forum and a must-attend event for industry professionals. 2018 will be the 23rd year of ICEF Berlin with over 1200 quality-screened agents from 100+ countries due to attend.

Educators at the event book a table with one or more representatives who have access to the Marcom E-Schedule PRO online meeting booking system, allowing them to arrange one-to-one meetings with study abroad agents. The full price of an educator table including one representative is €4400.00 (£3850.00). Tables booked with TAP funding will be located in one area in an Education is GREAT branded village.'

Educators booking using the TAP funding will benefit from the following additional exposure at ICEF Berlin:

  • Tables will be located in the branded Education is GREAT village - including signage and branded tablecloths.  Education is GREAT branding will also feature on an ICEF Monitor advertisement before the workshop.
  • Free participation in the ICEF Coach Programme - normally sold for €500.00 per educator.  ICEF Coach is a training and development programme providing advice and tools to schools enabling them to get the maximum ROI from their ICEF experience and showing them how to develop strong working relationships with education agents.
  • Free profile and €500.00 credit to use on Coursefinders.com, a "TripAdvisor" for language schools.
  • Free CoursePricer on each CourseFinders profile.

How to apply

As we're expecting the number of applicants to be higher than the number of grants available, we'll be running a strict first-come-first-served queuing policy. Email Roz Rozidor at roz.rozidor@englishuk.com, if you're interested in applying for a grant and being part of the English UK village at ICEF Berlin.

We'll assess each expression of interest in the order that it arrives. Grants will be awarded to the first fifteen educators that apply who meet the eligibility criteria.  We'll assist you in completing the necessary formal paperwork in due course.

If you're unsuccessful on this occasion, don't be disheartened. We'll shortly be announcing more grants for the 2019 ICEF Dubai workshop and ICEF Mexico-Colombia Agent Roadshow, and hope to bid for more funds from DIT in the future.
