Swine Flu: UK Border Agency Services

I am writing to let you know about what the UK Border Agency is doing in response to the worldwide concern about swine flu (Influenza A H1N1).

You will have seen the ongoing media coverage of the outbreak and be aware that the World Health Organisation (WHO) has in place a level of alert to stage 5. This is defined as human-to-human spread of the virus into at least two countries in one WHO region.

For the UK Border Agency, we are continuing to play our part by providing our normal services where possible, while monitoring the situation closely.

In Mexico we closed the visa section alongside consular services within the Mexican Embassy in line with Mexican Secretariat of Health advice to people to avoid crowds.

We are keeping all of our operations in the United Kingdom, Mexico and other countries under constant review in light of the changing situation. We will ensure that our website is regularly updated with the most recent developments that are specific to the Agency's business.
