Following the most recent set of announcements on Covid-19 restrictions, English UK is supporting its member centres to remain open, aligned with government policy. We have published extensive guidance and provided training to members on how to operate Covid-19 secure English language teaching centres. In line with this guidance, we are advising members to follow all national and local rules while allowing non-student facing and clinically vulnerable staff to work from home, and facilitating remote learning for students who are unable to attend classes in person.

English UK continues to provide essential business support to its members and to lobby the Government for assistance for UK ELT, which has already been devastated by the impact of Covid-19 and will only be damaged further by recent developments.

We are monitoring the situation and will keep our advice under constant review. Our priority, and the priority of all English UK members, is always the safety and wellbeing of students, staff and the wider community.
