Students found new courses after college group closes unexpectedly
We are grateful to ten accredited ELT centres in London which have offered places to students displaced by the closure of Golders Green College group schools.
English UK staff activated the Student Emergency Support scheme last week after Golders Green College, GG Colleges Oxford Street and ABC School of English closed at the end of December. Around 60 students were affected and almost all have now been placed elsewhere.
Acting joint chief executive Huan Japes said: "We are very grateful to the London schools which agreed so quickly to take students on a variety of courses. We hope those students are settling into their new centres with minimal disruption to their learning. I am also grateful for the hard work of the English UK team in sorting this out so swiftly."
Administrators have not yet been appointed for this closure but students who have not yet been in touch can contact membership@englishuk.com.
The original school in the group, Golders Green College, was a well-established name, opening in 1941. ABC School of English followed in 2002, running in Covent Garden, and GG Colleges Oxford Street was open for a little over a year.
