Live Language students supported following school closure

Twenty students have continued their studies at schools in Glasgow and Edinburgh following the closure of Live Language, supported by English UK's student emergency support scheme.

Live Language entered administration on Monday 13 July 2026. Anticipating the closure, English UK activated its student emergency support scheme two weeks earlier, enabling affected students to transfer to alternative accredited providers and continue their courses without interruption.

English UK's Membership Director, Huan Japes, said: "We are very grateful to Glasgow School of English, CES Edinburgh and CLAN Language Schools for allowing the Live Language students to complete their courses with them. We hope those students are settling in with minimal disruption to their learning. I am also grateful for the hard work of the English UK membership team."

Founded in 2002, Live Language in Glasgow offered CELTA teacher-training courses alongside a range of in person and online English language programmes.

English UK would like to thank schools in Glasgow and Edinburgh for their support and wishes all former Live Language staff and students the very best for the future.

Anyone wishing to make a claim for unpaid debts should contact the Live Language administrators via info@companyrelief.co.uk.
